And the second weekend in a row in the Austrian alps. This time we stayed a little further south in Gaschurn, Montafon. Sadly the first day weather was again bad – it was like last weekend – hiking in the clouds. We did a full day tour starting with the Gondola (Versettla Bahn) in Gaschurn. Last time I was here was in winter. This is the skiing resort Silvretta Nova.
From the top of the gondala we took the trail to Versettla (2372m) and Madrisella (2466m). Mostly we hiked in cloudes and fog, but a little later it got a clearer, but not sunny. On the way back we hiked almost 1000m down into the Garnertal and back to the middle station of the Versettla Bahn which we reached just a couple of minutes before it closed for the night…
The second day the weather turned super sunny so we took this opportunity and drove up the Silvretta Hochalpstraße to the Silvretta Lake at 2000m. I was here last year, but it was definitly worth to come a second time. Still a little tired from the first day we did the loop of the lake and hiked up to the Klostertaler Umwelthütte at 2366m with great views back to the Silvretta lake. This route is not so popular so there were not so many people hiking.
All day long we had fantastic weather and the hiking ended with a beer at the Silvretta lake.
