Destination for this years Easter Holidays was Amsterdam. Instead of a hotel (Amsterdam is super expensive) I booked a flat overlooking the Damrack (little station where the Grachten cruises start) in the middle of the old city which was a great choice. We were welcomed with wine and chocolate and really liked the place, especially the view. From here everything was in reach by foot so there was a lot of walking. Sadly after the „photgraphic hours“ in the morning the queues in front of the museums were stupidly long – we didn’t visit any of them.
Especially Easter sunday the weather was fantastic – in the moring when no tourist crowds were around I did lots of pictures. My favourite location was Prinzengracht and Herrengracht with the old houses mirroring in the water. Also we tried lots of cheese in the many stores, every evening was basically wine and cheese :). I guess this is more authentic than going into one of those 1000 Steak, Pasta or Burger places…
I really liked it, but to be honest even if Amsterdam has more bridges than Vencie, in my eyes Vencie is definitly the nicer city.
